We first discovered Talkeetna in 1996 when we drove up from Anchorage just before leaving on an Alaska cruise.

The view, the environment and the people we met convinced us this was where we wanted to live.

While tromping through this property the following year, we spooked a moose.
He moved off, then glanced back at us, as if to say "what do you think you 're doing here? "
